Yes! The album release party was a hit, and we had a super-fun time with everyone who came out. We've been on tour for about a week now, and it's been really fun! So far we've played Long Beach, San Luis Obispo, Chico, and now Medford. I'm writing this from a hotel in downtown Medford, and although it's almost 5pm, it's HOTTT. Ninety-six degrees to be exact, so you know my ass is parked next to the cranked air conditioner. Ahhh... We have about an hour before we have to start getting ready for our next show, so I'm gonna go get some ice from the lobby and stick my face in it. Just kidding, who does that?! Um, probably me, if air conditioning wasn't an option.

Best wishes from Oregon!

Wow, this tour has been amazing so far. It's been over a month, and it feels like it's just been a week. Last night we were on lock-down in our hotel in New York because of the hurricane warning, but it ended up just being a little tropical storm. Honestly, the tropical storm title is a little generous, it was mainly just a little sprinkle. But, we got to relax in our room and throw an awesome air guitar/Foreigner dance party which made up for any night life we were missing in the city. We're leaving for Boston tomorrow, and we should be back around this way in a couple of days. By then the streets will probably be dry and ready for a little Paper City trampling. Looking forward to checking out DC this Saturday after our show in Bryn Mawr; finally I'll be able to check out the Lincoln Memorial in person.

Love from the Big Apple,

Marisa

Being home is so bittersweet. It's been a week since The Murph Mobile (aka: our tour van) cruised back to California from our 2-month long tour, and I must say, although I'm glad to be home, I MISS THE ROAD! There hasn't been a dull moment since we've been back--I'm busy writing the songs for this year's Christmas EP, and we've got the Long Beach Roller Derby video in the works. Things are exciting on the Paper City front; right now I'm just trying to catch my breath before heading back into the studio to record our Nick Lowe tribute EP and the annual Christmas EP. Wish me luck, darlings, I want to make these things great for you!

Well, the Christmas EP came back from the printer's early this year, so it will be available December 1st; just in time for early Christmas background music! It's very Christmas-y this year--I can imagine a stage full of people spinning with scarves on and over-sized snowflakes dangling behind them during the songs "Chimney Sweep" and "It's Christmas". I'll send out a link for a free download when it officially releases; look for it under the name "Stories and Slumber". In other news, the Nick Lowe Tribute EP is being recorded, and should be released mid-to-late December. I want to get it out before the end of the world in 2012. Ha ha, just kidding--or am I?...

Love,

Marisa

Hello, and Happy New Year!

The Nick Lowe EP is being mastered, and will be out before the end of the month--WOO-HOO! In other news, the next few months will be spent writing and recording demos for the next full-length (due out in 2013). It's cool that we survived the coming of 2012; I'm taking our continuance as a sign that it's gonna be a good year!

Cheers,
Marisa

Well, the wait is on for the licensing rights to Nick Lowe's songs. Don't fret, Darlings, the EP will be in your hands (or, in your ears, rather) very soon; once Anglo-Rock (Lowe's licensing company) gets my check: BOO-YAH! 4-song EP, on your computer, downloaded for... yes... wait for it... FREE! In other news, I've been a busy bee, writing new stuff for your senses. Hope you're all doing well, and be on the lookout for "Labour of Love: A Nick Lowe Tribute"; featuring covers of tracks such as "Cruel to be Kind" and "Rollers Show". coming to a laptop near you!

Ttfn!
